Happy New Year
My beautiful friends!
This can truly be
The start of something new!
But I want you to know
Before you go any further
That there is One
Who doesn’t limit
His new beginnings
And fresh starts
To once a year
There is One
Who will let you start over fresh
EVERY DAY
You don’t have to set New Years Resolutions
And worry if you will fail
You don’t have to wait
For January 1 to roll around every year
Before you get to start again
His mercies are new every morning!
So if you planned to go walking today
And it didn’t happen
If you planned to not binge eat today
But you already have
Don’t worry!
Because there is one thing
I am confident of
And it’s this
He wants you
To cast all your anxiety (1 Peter 5:7)
About these issues
On Him
And let Him
Help you through it
If you are still breathing
Then He is ready and waiting
To partner with you
To help you
To stand by your side
If you fail today
And tomorrow
And the next day
He will say
“You have my compassion!!” (Psalm 103:13)
Let’s start again!!
My kids and I celebrated together
And they even made some signs
Special for YOU
If you don’t know where to start
And you’re looking for something simple
Try my victory list!
This is a tool that my brother created
It worked for him
And it worked for me
This is what mine looked like
When I started
You can find out more about it HERE
Still not convinced?
Check out my blog friend, Trish
Who made up her own Victory List
And has lost 88 pounds so far!!!
Whatever you choose to do
Know this
You can say goodbye to yesterday
And start again
Not just at the New Year
But every single day
Of your life
Listen to one of my favorite songs
By Mandisa
I can’t tell you how many times
I listened to this song
While I was out walking
Mailbox to Mailbox
Around the block
From 30 seconds
To 5 miles
This song was with me
And as I listened to it
Day after day
I learned to say goodbye
To Yesterday
Say goodbye to defeat
To failure
To the pain of your past
To the disappointments
That lie behind
And look to each day
As a new beginning
Every single day
A fresh start
It was hard to breathe
It was hard to move
But this song helped me
And I hope it helps you!

NOW I realize every day is a new day. I used to be of the mindset that a healthy lifestyle could only begin on a Monday. Now I realize that you have MANY chances to make good/better choices- choose to exercise every day, choose to eat 3 healthy meals, eat a couple of healthy snacks… Your fresh start can happen any time of the year, month, week or day…Just do it!
Happy New Year to you and your family Holly!

Loved this post! Loved the pictures! Loved the encouragement! Loved the song! How amazing is our God who never leaves us, never forsakes us, never disappoints! Hello to the brand-new possibilities of a year filled with promise, gratefulness, and even a little glamour! Today I will bask in the generosity of our God while I run up-and-down the steps at least 20 times; I hope you and Lee will approve! Love you, D
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Wild Woman! I have a good feeling about 2013- I feel it in my bones. (oh wait, maybe that’s arthritis that I am feeling)
Any woo… I feel like this year is going to be super duper awesome and I think we need to start it off by planning our vacation get-together for this year! As for the 30 seconds to victory I am definitely going to make a list because I have got to get this body moving again or else I won’t be able to keep up with you when I see you! I loved the pictures of the kids that you posted- they are all sooo cute and you looked very pretty. I wish I had been there to celebrate the New Year with you- but I was there in spirit! Love ya!- Amanda
Happy New Year to you too! Great post.

Happy New Year! Started my eating plan ‘early’ and have already lost 8 lbs.! I just know that this time I will lose all of the weight that has been bothering me for years… reading your blog and thanking God for HIS support has been really helpful.
40 lbs. to go… I’ll keep you posted!
Lisa
I am ready for a new start. I will never weigh 324 pounds again after today. Thanks for your blogs and especially the scripture. Bless you.
I am “stealing” that Victory List!!! I truly hope this is “my” year…..I am trying to keep the faith. But most of the time it just feels like this is never going to happen, and we will never get the financing figured out, for WLS. Ugh. Anyway, not to be a downer, I LOVE the posters! Your kids are truly awesome!
You, my dear, are a ROCKSTAR! I’m so very proud of you.
Anyway, thank you for posting your story and your tips and your “hey, I’ve been there” inspirational anecdotes. I love them. Happy new year to you and your family.
You are a wonderful inspiration to me to get back up and try again. I am about to make it real here: ahem! I weighed in yesterday fully clothed and in shoes (because getting naked in the pharmacy with glass walls facing the street is frowned upon here in Egypt) and I was 220.35 lbs. I wanted to lose the last 6 months and due to stress and laziness and depression, I managed to gain that last 20 lbs. BUT instead of feeling sorry for myself and eating my feelings (again,) I’m starting over and this time I’m going to do it. Not because it’s a new year resolution, but because I have 5 kids that I don’t even want to raise sometimes….so if something happens to me, who’s going to do it? (Don’t get me wrong. I love them. But they’re all teenagers now so I have days where I don’t like them.)
