I was interviewed on Crossfit Radio!!!

December 11, 2012 in Uncategorized

I was interviewed on Crossfit Radio a few weeks ago

Kind of crazy, right?

And I’m going to post the link

In case you’d like to listen to it

And give me your feedback

However…

Here’s the thing

You all know

That writing is something I feel comfortable doing

When discussing my journey

But talking about it….

Well…

That’s a whole different story

I’m not a speaker

So talking on the fly

Was not really something I felt comfortable doing

BUT

You all have encouraged me to try new things

And that gave me the confidence to try Crossfit

In the first place!

Which made me say ‘yes’ to this as well

So I feel like this is somewhat of a group victory

Don’t you think?!

Getting involved with a group of people

Who work out together

Has helped to keep me motivated

I’m getting back into the world

And I’m learning not to isolate

To try new things

To open myself up to new opportunities

Diana has encouraged and supported me

From the moment I stepped in the door

She wrote an article about my experience at Crossfit

And because of that

I was asked to do an interview

For Crossfit Radio!!!

I was very nervous

I was hesitant

And I wasn’t sure if I should

But I kept thinking about all of you

And how much your encouragement has meant to me

So even though I prefer writing

Over speaking

I DID IT!

I stepped outside the comfort zone

And I went for it

The majority of the interview

Was about my journey

About my background

What led me to 417 pounds

The pain and misery of obesity

My experience with surgery

And the days following

To be honest

He asked me more about those things

Than my specific experiences with Crossfit

So even if you don’t want to hear about the Crossfit part

You might find the rest of it interesting

If you get a chance to listen

That would be great

Because I would love your feedback!!

Good, bad or indifferent

I trust your opinions

I love each and everyone of you

And I thank you for the part you have played

In helping me step outside of the comfort zone

Try new things

And press on towards victory!!

And thanks in advance if you do!!!

I thought you did a great job. I thought you got your different points across really well. I was glad that the guy allowed you to speak instead of constantly interrupting you- which seems to be the trend now days. I was glad that they interviewed you because you might inspire a lot of people to attempt going to Crossfit because you have had success with it. Am also glad that they allowed you to talk about what type of exercise program you did prior to arriving at Crossfit- because that was very important- especially since there is not always an exercise place close to everyone- and not everyone can afford to go to Crossfit. I enjoyed the interview and thought you did a great job.
