Scatter Joy

March 17, 2012 in Uncategorized

I woke up this morning covered in little pink post-it notes

So I took a picture of the ones on my arm to show you

Mom is pretty
Mom is my favorite Mom

I love Mom

And next to me was a cup of coffee in a brand new mug that my kids picked out for me last week.

I can’t remember if I mentioned it but last week my knee was bothering me tremendously. So my 16 year old daughter suggested that she take the other 3 to the mall so I could rest. While they were there, they bought me this coffee mug. It’s totally my new favorite now!

So I woke up covered in pink post-it notes and a fresh cup of coffee housed in a mug that says my name is ‘Wow’!

I can’t think of a better way to wake up.

I saw this sign at Homestead Handcrafts the other day (yes I’m obsessed with that store!) and it really sums up how I feel about my kids.

They scatter joy in my life. Here and there. I’m not saying they don’t scatter other things. Like toys. And occasionally mud if it’s been raining outside and they forgot to wipe their feet off at the door.

But mostly they scatter joy. And that’s something we all need.

Love all the post it notes and the mug! My son used to leave me notes in my car and I would find them in the mornings before I went to work…I miss those days. I kept all of the notes and I have them in his baby book.

So sweet! I love mugs! My favorite right now is pink and brown and says "chocolate" on it. It is pretty much a vat o'coffee!

Seriously?! Your kids are fabulous!!! You have raised them right!!

Your kids really seem to have a sense of knowing how much it helps to build someone up. That is really wonderful. If they treat the rest of the world the way they treat their Mom, they will go far. You are very blessed to have them. I love that mug, and now I love the fact that I know my name is Wow upside down! LOL

I love your new mug…that was sweet of your oldest to take them all to the mall. She will make a great mom someday (way way way off in the long distant future…:) I adore the way your kids scatter joy!

If Only She Were Thinner March 19, 2012 at 10:50 am

You have the best kids…well…next to mine. LOL. So glad they are supportive of everything you have accomplished and all the changes you are making. Not everyone can say that about their families so it is awesome that they support it. I too had knee problems (torn miniscus and arthritis in my left knee). After dealing with the pain for years, I had the miniscus repaired and they scrapped out what arthritis they could. That was two years before my sleeve when I was at my highest weight (which didn't help). Knee pain is AWFUL so I completely feel for you.
