Be Inspired Sunday: Brenda from Bandster Momma

Be Inspired Sunday: That day of the week where I share what is inspiring me

There is someone I’ve been following online through a blog who has really inspired me.

Brenda from Bandster Momma

This woman is a fighter.

And she knows how to win the battle.

The battle of obesity.  The battle of depression.  Even battling other health issues.

And when I read her blog, I laugh and cry.  Sometimes at the same time.

But I am always inspired.

I can totally relate to her for these reasons:

She backed out of weight loss surgery once.   So did I.   She said she gained even more weight after backing out of the surgery.

So did I.

But she didn’t give up.  She didn’t let that become the end of her story.   She had the surgery anyway 2 years later.  And from what I can see—she has never looked back!

She didn’t let concerns about what other people thought get in her way.

She conquered her fear of going into the gym even though she was afraid what people would think.

But  now we come to the most awesome post ever!!

She named her lapband Hildegard

There is a reason but it has to do with a large woman with double braided buns going to battle against the food!  I love it.  I laughed so hard when I read this.  You just have to go read it for yourself!

She’s come face to face with the hunger monster and won.

She totally gets the self image problem.  The way we see ourselves one way but the mirror may say something entirely different.  And I’m pretty sure she’s going to patent the magic reality inducing lightbulbs soon.

You know what else she did??

She went walking when she didn’t want to.   She refused to give up.  She just kept going.

Because she wants to be a role model to her children.  That inspires me.

She freely tells you all the secrets to her success!

But after all that, there was more I didn’t know.

I had no idea she had suffered a traumatic injury.  A stroke.

And she survived.

But after her injury she put on weight and battled depression.

And then had to fight her way back to LIVING.

And she did it.

And you can read all about it here.

But whatever you do go meet her.

Because she’s doing it.  She’s making it happen.

And because of what she’ shared,  I know that I can do it too.
